WILT THOU BE MADE WHOLE?
One day the Lord Jesus was walking around in Jerusalem by the sheep market at a place called Bethesda, and struck up a conversation with a man there. Let’s read about it in John 5:1-11:
After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
It seems the Lord Jesus opened up a real can of worms here, by asking the man a simple question, requiring only one word to answer; either “yes” or “no”. Yet, it was a very profound question that begs to be asked to all who come to Him today. Very clearly, the Lord implied that being made whole was available, and the recipient only need decide whether or not to receive it. How did I arrive at that conclusion? Simple, the Lord Jesus asked the impotent man if he willed to be made whole. Yet, if I were to ask you right now if you are sick; wilt thou be made whole? your reply most likely would be the same as this man’s was. Oh, the words may be different, but the implication is the same.
The Lord Jesus, moved with compassion, knowing this man had been in his condition for a long time, wanted to bring relief to this suffering man. Yet the man overlooked the simplicity of the question completely! He replied with an excuse why he hadn’t been healed already. He had been waiting there for a long time for his healing, trying to be at the right place at the right time, only, when the angel stirred up the waters, another would step in before him. The man knew if he was to be healed, this was the place it would have to happen. He was acting in faith as much as he knew how, but yet, after thirty eight years, he was still not healed. By now, his hopes for healing probably weren’t too good, but yet, Jesus was there offering to him, asking him “Wilt thou be made whole?” Jesus wasn’t criticizing him for his failure to get into the water in time. He was merely offering the solution to his problem.
Many people have gone to every healing meeting they can get to, and yet, remain in their condition. There is something wrong with that picture! The Holy Bible clearly states that the Lord Jesus healed ALL who came to Him. What part of “all” do we not understand? Yet, when Jesus came into His own home town, there He could do no mighty works there, except He laid his hands on a few sick folk and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief. So….can unbelief hinder our healing? Well, it can sure hinder us from being saved! Then it would stand to reason that unbelief would hinder us from being healed.
There have been those who have told me it is cruel to tell someone that if they aren’t healed, that it is due to unbelief. But what would you have me do, lie to them? Unbelief will keep you out of any of God’s promises, and the Bible says so! I know God healed me of my sicknesses, not because I’m some special person, but because I believed. Believed what? I believed Psalm 103:2-3, literally taking God at His Word. Why? Because His Word is true. Do my circumstances nullify the truth of God’s Word? In other words, am I an exception to the rules? If Jesus healed all who came to Him, and I came to Him now in this day and time, and asked to be made whole, can I expect Jesus to heal me? The Bible says Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, to day, and for ever. Then the answer has to be YES! But what if I don’t believe that? Then I deny the Word of God the ability to work in my behalf. Oh, my unbelief doesn’t make healing unavailable, it just means it won’t work for ME. But it WILL work for those who believe.
There are those who say healing is not for today. Is that true? It’s true for them, so they don’t have to worry about the Lord Jesus showing up and healing them, because He won’t, because He works according to His Word, and Mark 11:23-24 says For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. If you refuse to believe, then you can’t have it, simple as that! It’s not that HE isn’t willing to heal, the problem is unwillingness on our part to believe His Word.
What would YOUR response be if the Lord Jesus asked you right now “Wilt thou be made whole?” Would you offer Him an excuse why you haven’t been healed up to now? Would your response be ruled by religious teachings of your past? Would you tell Him that others have wanted to be made whole, but they never received their healing? Would you tell Him you would be healed if it was God’s will? Would you tell Him that you don’t think healing is for us today? Think about it for a moment: exactly what would you tell Him? What would the correct answer be? As one of our past Presidents once said, “That depends on what your definition of “is” is….” But I can tell you this: when I was asked that question, my reply was “YES!” Hey, if He was offering, I was going to take Him up on it. I didn’t know how or why He would heal me, and it wasn’t my job to figure it out anyway. But His Word said yes, and I believed Him. Simple, huh?
Here’s something I want you to get; this man was hoping to be healed by his works, that is, physically getting into the pool when the water was stirred by the angel.
We try to reason things out, and we fail to realize, God’s ways are so much higher than our ways. Jesus doesn’t need your medicine or doctors to heal you, He didn’t need a doctor then, nor does He need one today. Jesus never had Dr. Luke follow up on any of those who were healed, did He? Why not? Apparently, Dr. Luke gave up his practice once he became a follower of Jesus. The Book of Acts records Luke as being known as “the beloved physician”, and that’s who he was “B.C.”, that is, Before Christ. After the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Ghost fell upon those in the upper room, people were being healed by the Word of God, just as it is yet today. There are those who will argue that healing went out with the original disciples, and they are entitled to their opinion. But as for me, I’d rather live by God’s opinion than man’s. I don’t need a doctor, I have Jesus! He’s all the healer I’ll ever need, now and forever. Why then isn’t everyone healed? Why is it everyone won’t believe? Answer me the second question, and you’ll have the answer for the first one. We have a choice!
Even after the impotent man was healed by the Lord Jesus, here came the religious people of the day telling him he wasn’t supposed to get up and carry his bed on the Sabbath, in other words, who was he to go against the religious teachings of the day? And they’ll ask you, Who do you think you are, bucking the system? Don’t you know God doesn’t heal everyone? Why did Jesus have all that trouble with the religious people? It’s because many of them don’t want you to enjoy a relationship with God. They’re miserable, and misery loves company. So they will tell you that if you’re sick, it must be for the glory of God. My question to those people is this: If you believe God wants you sick, and that healing is not for today, then why are you going to the doctor trying to get well? Why not just stay sick and enjoy it? But you will notice that Jesus HEALED the sick, He didn’t tell them that sickness gave glory to God. He took away suffering from those who came to Him, He didn’t put suffering and pain on them. Instead, He bore it for them. And He will gladly bear your sickness, too. In fact, He already took every sin, every sickness and disease upon Himself, making salvation and healing available to YOU, right here, right now.
So now, it’s up to you, it’s just you and the Lord Jesus. No hype, no fancy flashing lights, just you and Him, it’s your hour of visitation. He’s asking you right now, Wilt thou be made whole?

Wonderful truths Jerry!
I truly think that many are not healed today because they have one eye on the doctor ,and the other on Jesus. They fail to realize that if they are going to believe God for healing, they cannot have ” plan B” waiting in the wings.
A “Plan B ” is an admission of UNBELIEF!
There is so much of this kind of wrong teaching in our churches, it breaks my heart. We need to put God back on the throne where he belongs and allow Him to be ” The great One” that He is !
Smith Wigglesworth before he went home to be with the Lord in 1948 gave this word of prophecy concerning the ministry of healing;
” I can see that the ministry of healing is going to get more difficult. It is always more difficult when you have to contend with unbelief. There are already too many remedies in which people put their trust. But I can see that it will get worse, until it will be hard to get people to believe at all. We have become such a drug conscious society that, in many cases, the asprin bottle is more important than the anointing bottle.”
Oh, how tragic ,We are witnessing the fulfillment of this prophecy before our eyes.
Thanks Jerry for standing for the truth, Don’t ever change . blessings, julia

Dear Bro. Jerry.
Praise the Name of Jesus!!! You are still on fire! I don’t even remember now how I first heard of you but I’ve been following you for awhile now. You ministered to me when my former husband was so sick and eventually died. I was steady believing for healing but I think the morphine, etc. just kept him from truly believing. I am remarried now and very happy other than a pain in my right leg. I KNOW JESUS HEALS TODAY but am having some blockage in receiving and don’t know why or what!!! Am very discouraged because it is effecting so much of my activity…my husband said it was from wrestling with an angel…all I know is I’m tired of hurting and ready to run again!!!! Please pray that my faith would become as pure as the gold in heaven!!!! YES LORD I RECEIVE!!!
Also please pray that my husband and I find the right body of believers to worship and pray with….I so miss the fellowship but we are both at a point where if we leave a place feeling worse than when we went in…something is wrong. God help us to find the place we belong…where we can love, be loved and go out and spread the TRUTH of God’s love and His salvation!
Blessings to you and your family and thank you for the fire!!!
love in Christ,
mary

Dear Jerry Todays topic was what my family needed most. Last year you had prayed for my sister Thiemnu’s healing. She is mentally nervous. The doctors says she is a psycho and the wizards says its a black magic spell. Both side treatment given but we never see any improvement for long. My sister says only God will heal her. Please pray for her.

Thank you for your wonderful website, my husband has colon cancer in the last stages according to the doctors. He is a christian but profoundly hard of hearing, not well educated and gets confused by different things in the bible really easily, so I have been praying and trying to help him receive healing.
Your messages are extremely good for me to read, living in Okla and with Bill so ill I can’t bring him to your church for prayer, but will copy everything and give it to him and continue to pray and call his healing myself. Praying for every Christian to understand and receive the healing they all deserve and are promised.

…. curing cancer is easy,
and has been since well before 1950. (as the druglords well knew – that’s why they made it illegal in the united states to cure cancer with non-toxic, natural, inexpensive ways)…
in europe, it is still legal for doctors to actually cure people,
yet in the united states the doctor who cures is liable to be arrested.
===============================
Response from Jerry:
I’m curious to know where you are getting your information, I’d be interested in reading about it, especially about doctors in the US being liable to be arrested for curing cancer. Just curious.

Praise the Lord!!
I was healed of cancer that had spread all over my body. My liver, pelvis, bones and they believed it to be in my brain, after my husband, church and I prayed and sought the face of God according to his word. I went back to the same four Doctors and after a few more test they said they could not find the cancer. So, I am touch greatly by this message it just strengthen me the more. Many others have been coming to my husband and I for prayer, some with cancer, kidney failure and other health problems. One the doctors gave her two months to live she was wheeled into the church just two months ago may of 2011 and said I come to get my blessing from the Lord. She is still alive and as I talked to her just a few day ago she is doing well she said the doctors can not understand what has happen with her health. but we do the same God that worked miracles in the bible days is still working them today. Just keep up the good work. for by the testimonies of the saints others overcome.

I was healed of diabetes over night. I had symptoms for five years! I tried to “help” God by juicing and following a strict vegan diet. I thought The Lord would heal me this way. WRONG!!!! HE did not need my help. I praise HIM!!!!!

You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this
matter to be really something that I think I would never
understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post,
I’ll try to get the hang of it!

Simply, The Creator Made All Things Simple. Man came up with many devices. (not good ones, rather deceptions).
So then, to be easier to understand, look to the Father in Heaven, for His Way, and not man’s way.
His Way has always worked, without effort, with ease, when trusting Him to accomplish healing or salvation, as Jesus Says frequently.
The ways of mankind might “seem right” to a man, but the results are the way to despair, doubt and destruction.
The Way of the Creator is always Good, Right, and Healing , a Good Gift from Above.
The medical idolatry is rampant the last two years as seen in so many false reports and scare tactics pushing bad stuff on Americans and other countries.
God’s Word is Unchanged, and is Right Always.

“Response from Jerry:I’m curious to know where you are getting your information, I’d be interested in reading about it, especially about doctors in the US being liable to be arrested for curing cancer. Just curious.”
Actually, I just now saw this response; I’m not sure why I did not see it the last several years.
The many sites online today still report why doctors are not allowed to talk about nor use the proven cures for cancer.
Other sites show the results of clinics in Mexico, an otherwise idolatrous country,
and the success at those clinics for over 50 years.
If one was named here, it would be subject to quite a bit of aggressive action against it, so I don’t identify them in blogs, posts, or comments of mine own. They can be found, by anyone who looks for them.
The latest reports I read last month, were that 200 micorbiologists “died” just in the last two years. The reasons they died may be left to anyone’s choice or imagination. They were qualified to expose the recent false tactics of the government(s) and medicos worldwide, and some did, some maybe planned to, but are not able to now, being dead. (or disappeared).
This opposition to the truth is nothing new. When Jesus and the disciples healed someone on the Shabbat , the religious leaders were very angry, and the same leaders sought to put Jesus to death, and to silence the Apostles and disciples.
The same thing happens today.
If someone is really interested in reading about this, look it up with duckduckgo, or even via other search engines. Some are heavily censored, even more than ever before for the last two years – any mention of some things is flagged and stopped even before it is posted.
